See http://lists.openmicroscopy.org.uk/pipermail/ome-users/2015-March/005163.html. The parseUIC1Tags method is likely missing one or more value type IDs which correspond to double/TiffRational values.

The Tag ID codes for the metadata described in the thread are already defined by MetamorphReader?.getKey() (IDs: 28, 29, 40 and 49). Furthermore, parseUIC4Tags() has some logic and helper methods in placeto parse them. While trying to reuse these methods in parseUIC1Tags(), I encountered another issue: for this raw file (MetaXpress?), there is no UIC4Tag (as confirmed by libtiff) which is used internally by the reader for computing mmPlanes. We likely need additional lofic here to be able to determine mmPlanes if UIC4Tag is undefined so that the metadata can be correctly parsed.
