Sorting Thumbnails and Files

Description

I would combine the current options for sorting into one "sort data" menu (without necessarily eliminating the quick buttons). You could then allow users to sort by many other criteria, such as any of the metadata fields, like date created, creator, etc.
I think you could also subsume the "Images" bar in the home display, since this seems to be essentially a mechanism for sorting by date imported.

So, my idea is something like this.
after we rank some images (by an automatic method), we generate another dataset that holds only the image IDs (instead of duplicating images themselves), which are pointing the original image. And those image IDs have their own rates by the ranking. And finally the workspace displays those images by referring the image IDs, ordered by the rates.
