Melissa was aware of two existing applications
1) Aperio's ImageScope? Viewer
This is a standard larger image viewer similar experience to the use of google maps.
2) Hamamatsu
- A more simplified viewer in comparison to the Aperio's with no ability to view metadata. ftp://cdiftp.olympusamerica.com/pub/ndp_view_setup.exe
The other big 3 that I will need to be aware of through the process are generic tile tiffs, trestle, and MIRAX.
The action for the user investigation work is to arrange a discussion with a local user who works with large pathology images.
