BUG: Big images rendering - red square

Description
Workflow:
Open Trestle image (user-4, howe). - works fine
Change the rendering settings - try to move the red square - works fine
Save the just changed rendering settings
Do not close the image, try to move the red square by clicking into the birds eye inset - the square does not react (the square can be moved by D & D though)
Bug is there for the biggest and second biggest image only (see movie).
For the third biggest image the behavior is as expected.

Analogical workflow as described for Insight above produces similar outcome in Web - the difference is, that the Web does not show the bird eye at all after pressing save - instead the circling ball is show. (see movie ...Web.mov attached)
