Create brew Formula for Ice 3.4

Description

'brew ice' now defaults to Ice 3.5 which breaks the omero brew.

The OMERO Homebrew formula depends on our own versions of the ice formula. The following command should install the 3.4 version together with the Python library which is not provided in the mainline formula.

brew install ome/alt/ice

A couple of notes:

  • if we stick with the formula duplication strategy, we may want to rename ice as zero-ice3x to minimise confusion (and simplify dependency handling)
  • we could decide to rely on the mainstream formula with brew versions. This implies 1- addition/backporting of the Python library option which has been painfully slow, 2- understanding how to use brew versions when passing the Ice version with an option to the formula.
  • important: OMERO w/ Ice 3.4 installation using Homebrew is NOT tested by any Hudson job. Major problem here is infrastructure since we have only 1 10.7 machine where stable w/ Ice 3.3 and develop w/ Ice 3.3 are tested. I may try to add more jobs there next week but we will probably reach a limit soon.
