It seems strange to me that I have two imports processing but only one of them gets a spinner thing.

using the latest develop i.e. f8d2ceb, I cannot reproduce the issue described in the ticket.

Using the latest build on Windows 7 this morning I was getting spinners for all importing images as well - see attached screenshot.
