The new downloads.openmicroscopy.org/omero/ page isn't very pretty, or very easy to use.

  • link to download from possibly as many pages as possible (the link in the left-hand menu is not enough - he did not see it)
  • put the downloads themselves higher onto the download page
  • make the download buttons much more prominent with icons - colours - with a Downward pointing arrow (to symbolize downloads)

Also suggestion to highlight ONE Ice client version so it is less confusing for users who have no clue about what Ice is.

Now urgent given the number of comments we have had on its usability, @rkferguson and I working on it this week with a view to updating the 4.4.9 downloads page ASAP and then using that design for the 5beta2 release rather than waiting and doing the change on develop first.

New design is now live for 4.4.9 and being implemented for 5.0.0-beta2 so closing ticket as fixed.
