components/forks/*, metakit, and turbojpeg could each potentially go in their own repository under github.com/openmicroscopy.

I would also suggest that for non-microscopy-specific projects (i.e., all the forks, as well as turbojpeg), that we consider putting them under the SciJava? umbrella (i.e., https://github.com/scijava) rather than limiting their branding to OME.
