Comment: I just had insight quit after failing to reconnect on opening the laptop. I've emailed the error log.

I opened the laptop and clicked on an image or two (I'm sure the metadata in the right hand panel was changing, not sure if this is taken from the server each time), then I tried to open an image which lead to the wait dialogue for a few seconds before insight quit.

Very odd behaviour the first time I launched this new version of insight. The first image I opened only displayed about 10 grayscale levels, looked very weird, like it had been posterised. By default I had high compression on. When I switched to no or medium compression the image was fine. Back to high, back to weird.
I tried a few images and they were all the same. Then everything froze and insight quit, stating reconnection issues. Maybe there is something in the error log I emailed JM and Josh a few minutes ago. This was at just after 6pm tonight, I think. I can't replicate it I'm afraid, so not sure how useful this is.
