Not needed:
- createOMEXMLMetadata
- merge
- keys
Needed:
- makeSaneDimensionOrder
- verifyMinimumPopulated
- createLSID; note it's variadic
- populateMetadata
- populatePixels
Probably needed:
- setDefaultDateEnabled (could this be done without a global if it was per-reader/writer?)
- setDefaultCreationDate

These methods are now all implemented. There are a few minor helpers not included here which might also need converting, but will be trivial to do so at a later date.

An equivalent to populatePixels/populateMetadata is needed to initialise the metadata store and complete the TIFF reader.
