Deployment on Windows does not work

Description

Changes in the IceGrid? executables (re: icegridserviceinstall) as well as whitepath handling need to be integrated into the OmeroCli commands for deploying the server.

The build issues related to windows have all been fixed, and with custom configuration it is now possible to get a basic OMERO installation running on Windows. There are several issues:

  • Windows handling of os.exec*() means that the bin/omero server launchers cannot be used, and instead all executables must be configured directly in the application descriptor
  • Most paths including all those in Windows.config and at least pwd="" in the application descriptor must be absolute. (Remember to double the slashes: c:\\omero\\logs)

We will provide an example Windows configuration with the documentation, and examine other solutions in future releases.

r4025 improves admin.py to fully start and stop/delete the service via admin start and admin stop respectively. Also includes a working configuration.
