BUG: put group off display & import

Description

Found during testing of ​https://github.com/openmicroscopy/openmicroscopy/pull/2304#issuecomment-41135457.

Imported dv folder, and during the import removed the group from display - the images are okay and the importer report is sound, but the thumbnails in the importer window are black see screenshot:

Compare the other screenshot, where the same folder was imported WITHOUT putting the target group off display during import - the thumbs in importer are okay.
