BUG: 2 Partner Project pages

Reported by: pwalczysko Owned by: hflynn

Description

We have 2 Partner project pages, note that the content is different - the one with less content is easily navigable from the homepage, via Documentation -> Partner project, but obviously this is not the one which has the most details. The most authoritative seems to be the other one, which can be reached via Products.

Both of these pages are public.

Very confusing indeed.

There are two because the one under the support menu is just documentation for partner projects. I'll improve the labelling to make it clearer.

See http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/support/partner/introduction and http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/support - I've added a note to both indicating that the main source of info is the product pages. Is this less confusing now?

Yes, this is clearer now - I think I am starting to understand the difference between the two pages - the "Documentation" will bring you towards the original, "their" docs, whereas the Products page links will have the Docs links to OME-own docs ? Could we maybe pass this info somehow (if my assumption is right ?) ?

Hmm, on the second look, I think the above is true for some, like u-track and OMERO.searcher. For other tools, this is not the case. But in any case, it would be good to pinpoint the "reason for existence" of the Documentation page, when everything is seemingly already in the Product page and expose this reason to the reader ?

Okay, the last rambling-remark - I have compared all the Products vs Documentation pages - the difference in the other cases is clear because of the Page layout being different (and more or less unified) between the two - the Products tend to be more simple but graphical, often bluish panel in the middle, the docs - more texts and subpages, white background. Only the Projects page looks graphically the same between the two - I am sure I will mix them up in the future again like that - maybe it is all about the graphics ?

The product pages have the overview and then link to documentation, the same documentation that can be found under the 'Documentation' menu, whether it is hosted by us, or externally. The /partner menu pages do look very similar though, I'm sorry if that's confusing but we can't assume which pages the users will look at first so the info needs to be on both.

Ok, I've retitled the 'Partner Projects' page under the docs menu to be 'Partner Projects Documentation' as well as adding the sentence pointing people at the main product pages. think that is all I can do within the current structure of the website really so closing as fixed.
