In going over 879 with Chris, https://github.com/openmicroscopy/openmicroscopy/commit/81ac72e50e16741b83343c823e522eda7639d452 has been pointed out as something that really shouldn't have happened on the 5.0 line. (See PR 2607)
This broke webtagging which Douglas documented but will go on to break other plugin writers. Adding this as a blocker for 5.0.3 but correction post RC should be fine.
