Disallow starting server as root

Description
To prevent having directories locked, if the current user is root on posix systems, the startup script should bail.
Note: this will be an initial change, eventually to have the processor and fs servers be able to access all files, they'll need to be exceptions to the rule, but for the simple installation this prevents users from locking their directories:
