Description
Reported via QA (nightshade user).
The ROI tool is having problems to draw more than 6 polygon ROIs and update them in time.
- Open any image (for example dv)
- open ROI tool and start drawing polygons (the icon between the "line" ROI tool and the "text" ROI tool)
- draw at least 6 ROIs, always clicking on each corner of the growing polygon and finish every polygon with double-click
- drawing the 7th polygon, observe that the polygon after the finishing double-clik does not get selected as the previous 6 did, obviously waiting for the process to finish for a long time.
- the fan on my mac is getting loud during this process
- the workflow of more than 6 polygons is thus unworkable
From Insight log:

tried with a dv too. I cannot reproduce the issue on trout.
Pushing so we can review when Petr gets back.

I think that the issue is not that you cannot create the 7 polygons. The problem is that after creating 6 polygons, the update of display gets unsupportably long (10 sec), although the first polygon was created and displayed immediately. The fact that the 7th polygon is taking so long to appear breaks the workflow, as you cannot apply the final click to wrap the polygon up (you do not see it).
Just repeated as user-4 on my own image on trout merge.
I guess we have to sit on it in the office.

@jburel - Maybe the difference is in the number of lines per polygon ? I just opened a user-5 image on trout, there are 7 polygons, but in fact they are just triangles (are those the ones you have drawn ?). The polygons of the user have some 6 - 7 lines, they are almost oval in appearance (and I am drawing such polygons to repeat the bug).
Edit: No, sorry, this cannot be the reason. I can repeat the problem even with just triangular polygons. The 7th polygon takes really long to appear.

- Milestone changed from 5.1.4 to OMERO-5.1.4
Splitting 5.1.4 due to milestone decoupling
