Each file contains 2 blocks; the first should be 16x16x256, the second should be 16x16x1024. SPCM (​http://www.becker-hickl.com/software/spcm.htm) can be used to verify metadata.

Right now, we're assuming that all blocks have the same dimensions, which is usually true - except in mixed PLIM/FLIM files, which these are (see ​http://www.becker-hickl.com/pdf/plim-zeiss-lsm710-01.pdf).
