Description
The command-line tools seem overly keen on the upgrade check. E.g., if I am offline then the first thing I get is a large stack trace,
$ showinf -version Failed to compare version numbers java.net.UnknownHostException: upgrade.openmicroscopy.org.uk at java.net.AbstractPlainSocketImpl.connect(AbstractPlainSocketImpl.java:178) ~[na:1.7.0_101] at java.net.SocksSocketImpl.connect(SocksSocketImpl.java:392) ~[na:1.7.0_101] at java.net.Socket.connect(Socket.java:579) ~[na:1.7.0_101] ...
and if I try to simply disable it, the help gives,
-version: print the library version and exit -no-upgrade: do not perform the upgrade check
but,
$ bfconvert -version -no-upgrade Found unknown command flag: -version; exiting.

Should be trivial enough to fix in the bioformats-tools classes but it will likely need to wait until https://github.com/openmicroscopy/bioformats/pull/2372 is in.
