Description
When OMERO.web is rendering "No Image" as a thumbnail, it's rendered in the thumbnail view at the aspect ratio of the image that should be being displayed.
e.g. the attachment.
The "No Image" graphic is displayed at 195*325 which is what the thumbnail itself would have been, had it been possible to render a thumbnail for this image.
Unsure how to replicate this, other than a prod Nightshade image ID:
https://nightshade.openmicroscopy.org/webclient/?show=image-4073934
Here the 'No Image' is rendered at 40x65.
The underlying image is 195*325
Calculating the ratio:
195 : 325 = 40 : 66.666666666667

Won't the server send the thumb at the correct aspect though?
So then you can scale based on the size of the image received from the server, as opposed to the size in the image metadata? or is that vastly more expensive?
Unfortunately this is quite tricky to fix, since the JavaScript? image sizing code has no connections to the thumbnail generation on the server. The browser can't tell whether the thumbnail is "No image" placeholder or the correct image.
