Description
Insight creates new tags with identical name without being authorised when multiselection tagging is performed.
- multiselect many images (270, e.g. pagination dataset on eel user-4)
- click on plus in RHP and start tagging
- in the tagging dialog, create a new tag "new-tag" and add it immediately to all the 270 images
- this action will take quite a while, in the meantime
- just after the dialog disappeared, click onto one of the freshly tagged images in the tree
- observe that this image has two DIFFERENT tags with the name "new-tag" you just created
- after a while, when the tagging is done, this bug persists -> a new tag "new-tag" was duplicated on one image (can be checked by again multiselecting all images and viewing the RHP), you will see that the item "new-tag" is listed twice, and you can double check that the two items have different IDs

.....while the tagging is going on...
This is precisely the point. You can most easily check whether or not the tagging is still going on by selecting one of the tagged images.
What would a selection of Tags panel bring me ?
I just do not see any justification for the present behaviour.

Sure, no justification, my comment was meant as note on how to replicate the problem (maybe more a note to myself ;-) ). It's not the tagging action itself which creates the duplicated tags, while the tagging is going on, you have to do something which changes/deactivates the right hand side metadata panel (which triggers another save action).

- Resolution set to wontfix
- Status changed from new to closed
The key is, while the tagging is going on, do not change the object selection and just select a different tab on the left(!) hand side panel, e. g. the 'Tags' panel. As the right hand side metadata panel becomes deactivated, it triggers another save action. That's the reason why the tags are created and linked multiple times.
