Strange JPEG/OME-TIFF minmax behavior with import

Reported by: mtbcarroll Owned by: jburel
Priority: minor Milestone: Rendering
Component: Import Version: n.a.
Keywords: n.a. Cc: ux@…
Resources: n.a. Referenced By: n.a.
References: n.a. Remaining Time: n.a.
Sprint: n.a.

Description (last modified by mtbcarroll)

  1. log into OMERO with Insight
  2. import DMSOHigh_001.jpg into OMERO
  3. export it as OME-TIFF
  4. import DMSOHigh_001.ome.tiff into OMERO
  5. notice that they look different
  6. notice from their rendering settings' channel sliders that maybe their minmax are different
  7. notice further that showinf -minmax gives each different values again

I don't know what's going on here but it seems somewhat strange. (Sure, JPEG is lossy, but not that lossy?)
