Crash 4.1 server (Warlock) while importing xdce_sml

Description

Using the latest bio-formats r5635 and importing squig.../test_images_onhold/xdce_sml. Am able to import the plate ok, but after the import reports 'completed', the server crashes (apparently an OOM).
