The Tiff data coming from bio-formats needs to be change so tiff related images do not put this information in description.

Can you check whether or not this problem persists with bio-formats:r6406 (or later)? Looking at the OME-XML generated for WanliMay4.gel and 'Vessels 16bit grey.tif' with bio-formats:r6527, this problem seems to be fixed.
