Bug: odd warning messages under STATUS on doubly linked dataset

Reported by: jamoore Owned by: atarkowska
Priority: minor Milestone: OMERO-Beta4.2.1
Component: Web Version: n.a.
Keywords: n.a. Cc: jburel, atarkowska

Sprint: 2010-10-28 (18)

Description

I deleted a project with contents that had a doubly linked dataset. Then I tried to open the second project which had the dataset. The cursor never stopped. Under STATUS, I had briefly

Delete project 10952 Finished errors=0 (ConstraintViolation...)
Delete image 26702 Finished
Delete image 26705 Finished
Delete project 10954 Finished

when I went back to "Data", the spinning icon was gone. When I then went back to STATUS, the errors=0 was gone.

A bit disconcerting.

  • Summary changed from Bug: load dataset keeps spinning after delete to Bug: odd warning messages under STATUS on doubly linked dataset

The spinning wheel was fixed via #3094, but the odd Status message still appears if the user switches to "STATUS" quickly while a delete is ongoing for a project with a doubly linked dataset.

Josh: I just had a case where "Progress" for a delete lasted through several reloads. 30+ seconds, but the delete was done in 400ms.

that odd message comes from delete_handle.report() while delete is in progress.

Integration test does not show that problem, I was only reproduce it by the attached script on the real data.

Chris saw this again in the wild when deleting a plate. In that case, the output was huge (scroll-box?). If I need to limit this server-side, let me know.
