You may also have a look at Agilo extensions to the ticket.
Since we had been using agilo, XMLRPC plugin hasn't been not work perfectly. Previously adding existing ticket didn't work at all. This is work around to any unexpected bugs occur while using XMLRPC interface. It allows to add ticked but not modify trac (don't add comment to the ticket).
