Reporting Standards

Some fields already have established reporting standards or guidelines for their experimental conditions. You could support standards like MIACA as XML sub-schemata. This recommendation comes with the caveat that there are still issues with how consistent these guidelines are as “standards.” I would like to look into the relevant ones (or have someone else do it, if my time here is cut short) on a case-by-case basis before committing you to anything beyond saying: you should be prepared to support this in the schema and it would be nice if the Omero software made it easy.

The currently listed reporting standards from MIBBI that involve image acquisitions are:

MIACA
MIAME/Env
MIAME/Nutr
MIAPE
MIARE
MINI
MISFISHIE
(MiFlowCyt??)--for flow cytometry, involves imaging data, but they don't call it imaging.
Attached is a spreadsheet containing summaries of these projects (modified from MIBBI homepage). Each project is a column, and below is a summary of what information the standard is meant to record. As I understand it, MIBBI is attempting to harmonize these efforts, and essentially create a series of bioreporting modules that can be reused between the different projects where appropriate. I know some of these exist as XML schema and are relatively stable and finished, while others are still under development, but I haven't looked at them to know more detail than that.
