Moved from http://www.ome-xml.org/ticket/87
- Options for viewing and/of editing the metadata of the record could be handled in a similar way to data permissions: Public or Restricted, again with the software providing finer granularity.
- Metadata that cannot be viewed must be ignored by harvesting protocols.
