Description

Moved from http://www.ome-xml.org/ticket/94

OME specifies some vocabulary internally as enumerated lists. I suggest these values should come from domain-specific ontologies or vocabularies where they already exist. Where they do not, and you must continue to develop your own, you could consider submitting your terms for inclusion in the Biomedical Investigation Ontology (BIO). This would help add legitimacy to your vocabulary, without requiring you to form your own formal ontological committee (yet) to tackle all of imaging. I suspect many of the terms from these elements are not established yet anywhere:

  1. Types of microscopy/experiement.
  2. Lightsource types
  3. Laser Media and Laser Types
  4. Detector types
  5. Lens corrections or coatings
  6. Filter types
  7. Microbeam manipulation
