Expected use of zooming

Description
Following the meeting on the 06/01/11 (#3724) it was highlighted how the zoom functionality in softworks was performed using the mouse roller wheel. This potentially has the ability to cause conflict in the use of the mouse roller wheel to move through the z section.
A mini investigation is required to question how the dual use of the mouse roller wheel is managed in existing applications.
Initial example – Two scientist were familiar with working with alt + roller wheel for zooming in and out word documents. Based on this they would expect the roller wheel on its own to be used for the z section and to be able to use alt + roller wheel to zoom in and out of the image.
