Feedback 21 January Johan
The session was to provide a general preview the importer within insight to Johan.
Again there was generally a lot of positive feedback Johan as he was very happy with using the importer through insight. He was particularly happy with the thumb nailing and the ability to image viewer from the import
Problems experienced
- Import selection process
Johan had some initial problem with the clarity of selection and importing. His first import was selected in a project and the orphaned dataset name changed to the one he wanted. The scenario discussed would be by providing the supporting information of the project/dataset in the import panel. If the incorrect Project or dataset was selected the change could be made in the drop down box to confirm the import location. And if further required create a new project/dataset. This would look to support the ability of defining the import in the selection process.
The ability to move data between projects was discussed as an alternative option if the images were incorrectly imported into a folder but it was additional work to the import process.
Johan wanted to trial the software for next week and was keen to use the software. It was explained that the software has not undergone any significant testing and is still fragile. I will arrange for a follow up early on next week to confirm everything is working as expected and if possible
for any additional feedback he may have.
Note: The viewing of the key metadata information was again raised. (This issue has been addressed see Viewing multiple Image metadata #3481)
UPDATE: Have spoken with Johan and he has not experienced any problems so far when he has been importing, he currently has a large section of lab work to do so the analysis and so work with OMERO will be a few weeks away. The intention is to make available the latest version for him to have access to and I will follow up on the 10th Feb.
