Description
The Java Media Framework supports a number of multimedia formats. Bio-Formats could interface with it to provide more options, such as MPEG support (read and write). This is probably the most trivial of the trivial tickets, though.

At this point in time, it appears that JMF is long unmaintained and effectively dead. It would probably be unwise to consider using it. Could this ticket be closed?
