Description
in the thumbnail window, it should be possible to use the usual controls to select images (e.g. on Windows: CTRL-A for all, CTRL-Click and SHIFT-Click to select ranges)

Problem with selection in http://hudson.openmicroscopy.org.uk/job/OMERO-merge-blue/49/
Extra thumbnails selected to left/top of shift-clicked range
If dragging rectangle just covers the centre of a thumbnail it is not selected - try dragging a thin box through the centre of a line of thumbnails.

When 2 nodes side-by-side are selected,
only one node was selected in the tree (see #4444)
