User feedback (round 5)

The client-importer shall be tested in house before being taken out to users to see the changes.
The testing needs to take into account the changes made in the workflow and last set of changes of:

#4570: Cancel when last import is on-going
#4569: Result disply if only one container
#4416: Icon notifying end of import
#4557: Display icon to identify file

• Middle line panel resize does not reveal the labels of file name and files of type.
• The layout of the files to import box is not consistent with Windows the resize column options and re-order file name. Is it feasible to provide a similar view as shown in the 'details view' of Windows.

• Refresh button - does an icon need to be shown?
• Does the refresh button need to be greyed out when not functional?
• The grouping of the refresh button on the select data to import form. Is it global or local to left hand directory selection.
• Some additional information for Show Thumbnails when imported.
  • An initial suggestion: Show Image Thumbnails on Import. (Previewing Thumbnails is not recommended over a slow connection)

I realise there is a going to be a space issue here.

• Add all selected file button on select data to import form. (Check appropriate as the shift key provides this function also.)

• A green up arrow icon to indicate new imports on the dataset (and the icon shown in the completed imports form against the label of: Imported dataset). The circle is currently being used for permissions so it would be more consistent to work with an arrow. (See screenshot 1)

These points are also related to the ongoing work in ticket #4354.

• The move of the importer icon to be the first icon on the left hand side. (See screenshot2)
• The importer icon in the left hand panel to be greyed out when no information has been selected. (However, this would impose a workflow of using the top icon when no information is selected. I am unsure if this is suitable as such a scenario might only occur when starting OMERO?) (See screenshot2)

• The outstanding question for the feedback testing with scientists is on the layout of the Folder as Dataset.

• The information gathered from the in house testing above is now being used to inform and connect the further tickets that may be required for the fifth round of user testing.

The 5th round of feedback from the local users has reached a level of saturation and so all the subsequent tickets have been closed.
