Review of explanation and help for search special characters

The special characters of ? * ^{, are not easily understood via the help. The review shall explore
alternative ways of presenting the information.}

This work follows the client feedback from ome-users Digest, Vol 72, Issue 2.

The set of ideas for this are to be finalised for the week beginning 4th April so that we may have some initial feedback from Jerome.

A generic template formed for idea to take and discuss further.

The feedback points from the meeting provided the ability to walk through the search and use for special characters the following points were raised:

• There is a lack of familiarity with the use of the ^{special character in general. This is where the confusion lies for using it for searching.}
• The benefits to the search result for the boost path were generally not seen and the permutation to do a similar search in a way the user understood was overriding the need for the boost search.

The recommendations to come out of the feedback were:

• For the search special characters of * ? providing a couple of scientific examples for their use.
• For the search boost special character it needs to be decided if an example will be sufficient to understand and so be continued to display in the search information window.

The search information will be changed to show just the search special characters of '*' and '?'. This is shown in the Wildcard search screenshot. The search boost will not be displayed so as not to confuse users for the search. But the ability to use the search boost will still be possible in the search box.
