Description

It looks like after an exception on re.load, re.load is retried although the previous settings have been lost (or a new re is created but not properly initialized??).

Perhaps logging the uuid for the stateful service would help:

In [4]: re.ice_getIdentity().name
Out[4]: 'c0:a8:b2:20:788089e1:1306b778bbc:-7fd8omero.api.RenderingEngine'

Whether we should retry or not will be handled by similar ticket: #5828. The exception handling will be improved to use ice_getIdentity() for logging etc #5835 as suggested. Closing as duplicate.
