OMERO.blitz - The Ice communication service

Description
Development of the Ice service/server for OMERO has been taking place in the source:branches/icy_omero branch (starting r1199). There hasn't been a central ticket for all those changes. This is now that ticket.

Soon (within the next week or so) the icy_omero branch should get merged with source:trunk
