BUG: loading thumbnail slows down

Reported by: atarkowska Owned by: cxallan

Description (last modified by atarkowska)

Michael reported when he had been looking at others people images, thumbnails where loading very slow. If I was trying to look at Dataset 58358 or 57767 (both are owned by Victoria) using his account, I had to wait almost a minute to load those thumbnails (but only for the first time). Once they were generated I have no issue. Is this any issue with thumbnailing shared images? Server nightshade.

I've tested this a bit with my user against Michael's data and haven't been able to see this again. It's quite possible that it was just due to Nightshade server load so I'm closing until we can get some exact timings and reproducibility. For what it's worth Nightshade has been restarted since this ticket was reported and is now on a completely different disk I/O infrastructure to boot.
