Are we particularly attached to keeping this file, given all the improvements and updates to the contributing documentation, or could I stick the relevant bits into the code contributions file and delete the rest now?

Don't think the file in particular is important, Helen. If you can integrate everything in a more uniform way, go for it. If possible, maybe the right goal would be to always be able to point people at .../contributing as the base starting point.

Page has been removed for now with most relevant bits moved elsewhere. There's a Trello card for further work if we ever get around to it!
