Bug: "Original metadata" tab not displayed for screening data

Reported by: mlinkert Owned by: jburel
Priority: major Milestone: OMERO-4.4
Component: Insight Version: n.a.
Keywords: n.a. Cc: timo.a.miettinen@…, vilja.pietiainen@…, ruben.munoz@…, jburel, atarkowska, wmoore,
Resources: n.a. Referenced By: n.a.
References: n.a. Remaining Time: 0.0d
Sprint: 2012-02-28 (9)

Description

The "Original metadata" tab is missing in Insight and Web when viewing screening data imported with Importer or Insight 4.3.3 against gretzky.

The "Original metadata" tab is present when using the same exact clients and server to import/view non-screening data. For example, test_images_good/al3d/Iron Plate.al3d has the tab, but test_images_good/bd_pathway/2009-05-01_000/Experiment.exp does not.

Where can I find some data that has these companion files?

comment:8 in reply to: ↑ 7 Changed 12 years ago by mlinkert

Replying to wmoore:

Where can I find some data that has these companion files?

Any screening data should show the problem; I used test_images_good/bd_pathway/2009-05-01_000/Experiment.exp in my initial test. It looks like Jean-Marie was using the files in test_images_good/flex/ when he made the above screenshot.

From JM:
"I use 003003000.flex". Files are File Annotations with companion ns.

comment:10 Changed 12 years ago by jburel

Full ns is: openmicroscopy.org/omero/import/companionFile and is declared in Constants.ice

I'm still having trouble getting a file that displays companion files in Insight. Using an old Insight and server build, I imported a Flex file and this didn't show any companion files. I rebuilt the server with develop branch and used Insight from http://hudson.openmicroscopy.org.uk/job/OMERO-merge-blue/45/artifact/src/target/pkg/OMERO.clients-4.3.3-70e9387d-b45.mac.zip but this doesn't display companion files for the image I'd already imported. I tried importing again with this Insight & server but got some crash that is probably due to bioformat version mismatch: https://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/ome/attachment/ticket/7292/Screen%20shot%202012-01-06%20at%2014.21.20.png

What version of the server do I need to use with this build of Insight?

The problem that you have there in the screenshot has to do with missing slf4j JARs not a version mismatch or a server problem. Looks like build 48 has that fixed:

https://github.com/will-moore/openmicroscopy/tree/sprint9-web-backlog has commits:

Fixed in web.

JM: I noticed in Insight (built from develop) that if I load the Image by clicking Plate-Acquisition and then Image, then the companion files are visible on the image, but if I go back and click on Plate, then on Image (without clicking on Plate Acquisition) the Image in the right hand panel does NOT display the companion files.

To test:

  • I load the Image by clicking Plate-Acquisition and then Image, then the companion files are visible on the image,
  • I go back and click on Plate, then on Image (without clicking on Plate Acquisition) the Image in the right hand panel does display the companion files.
