Within the blitz gateway there two locations where deleteObject() is used in a non-transactional fashion:
- BlitzGateway.unlinkAnnotations()
- BlitzGateway.removeAnnotations()
It would be beneficial to fix these and migrate the usage to the use of the delete service.

Solution for removeAnnotations() is now included on the branch, and subsequent pull request, for #7301. Not much we can do about unlinkAnnotations() right now but we can certainly revisit later. Closing.
