Description

As a part of the code style work, we should also make sure that all developer systems are configured with the proper line-ending settings, and possibly remove all the ^Ms from existing files. (Note: though such a global change can cause annoyances when performing diffs, in most situations it's possible to ignore whitespace changes to offset problems with backporting, etc.)
