The modulo proposal has been added to the model, for SPIM, FLIM EM etc. See http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/support/ome-model/developers/6d-7d-and-8d-storage.html
for more details
Now need to implement in

at import time, generate a XML annotation linked to the image.
add support in client to handle such annotation e.g. for flim add a lifetime slider.

FLIM should be a good first candidate (imperial).
