Regular builds should be done of OMERO using Java 1.6 as long as it's supported.

Done. Copied the BIOFORMATS-trunk-JDK5 job (more or less)

Stick, is this something you could possibly tackle? At least once recently (#8701) we had 1.6 compiled files which we only detect haphazardly when someone switches their JVM in eclipse. We'd need to define which machines even have Java 1.5 on them, and target this build to that machine. Re-running (i.e. copying) the OMERO-trunk build step should be fine since it does test-compile.
