The compression was taking place on gretzky under root/system. (Images are still there if you want to try with them).
What's your initial compression setting set to?
comment:3 Changed 12 years ago by jburel
initial compression was medium.

The problem happens with the openGL flag on and it does not happen all the time.

I don't think opengl was on:
OMERO.clients-4.3.3-DEV-ice33.mac $ grep -ri opengl . ./config/imviewer.xml: * Information indicating to use or not openGL. ./config/imviewer.xml: <entry name="/library/opengl" type="boolean">false</entry>

The problem happened from time to time. We will have to review the way the Buffered Image is generated.

I have modified the way images are painted. I have not seen the problem. Closing, we can re-open if we need.

Tested working as expected using build OMERO-merge-green/113 on Gretzky
- JM/Josh Can I confirm the default compression setting used to be on the login screen as I was not able to set this for the test?

on login screen, select either High or Low.
Could you give me more info about your machine?
I start with compression medium and the image is displayed correctly.
