Description
From ome-nitpick:
This seems to be a common problem: Someone manages all the
other steps of install, then fails to log in as root.
I think the username & password documentation could be improved.
The current problem is we use "omero" for everything in the docs, so if a
user decides to rename db user or db name etc, they don't know which
"omero" to replace throughout the docs.
Might be clearer to make all usernames and passwords unique?
Something to keep in mind for when we're updating the docs.

I don't think so Ola. It is about as clear as possible right now
without putting "LOG IN FOR THE FIRST TIME AS ROOT!" in bold, 32-point
and with a <blink> tag. We even have a whole section of the
troubleshooting documentation that specifically addresses this:

HI OMERO team,
First: I have the system now up and running along with 5 other sites
served on the same apache2.
The error happened during my attempts to login and since the system
asked me to send this error I did so. I think what would be useful for
others which I missed is the point that although the username and pass
is set during the setup the login username is actually "root" with the
password and not the set username.

Sebastien - thanks for picking this up:
I was thinking we need a table of username and password for all the different accounts,
E.g.
Database User: "db_user", "database_pw" Root OMERO: "root", "root_pw"
Then, in the https://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/support/omero4/server/installation page, we need to use these in all the examples.
What do you think?

Install pages have been modified to use the following conventions
Database account: username: "db_user", password: "db_password" OMERO database name: "omero_database" OMERO root account: username: "root", password: "root_password"
Affected pages are server/installation, server/install-omero-on-mac-os-x-10.5, server/install-walkthrough-on-10.6-using-macports, server/install-walkthrough-on-10.7-using-homebrew, server/debianwalkthrough
The server/install-windows page needs be modified as well. However, waiting for review of these changes before capturing new screenshots.

Modified serve/install-windows and server/upgrade.
Transfer ticket ownership to Roger (Windows screenshots upload) before final review.

Looks (very) good.
When I got to the following step I actually thought I was authenticating rather than entering the root password for the admin user. As you say, different passwords would help. Having to name the initial root account would also help. That way you're being asked to create a new user which makes sense.
We can now configure the empty Postgres database using Omero's db script. You can accept the defaults for the first few values and enter a suitable password as required when prompted, e.g. "omeropass"
