Adjustable Zoom field for OME-XML

Description (last modified by crueden-x)

Currently, the Detector element has a Zoom attribute that is described as "The Zoom or 'Confocal Zoom' or 'Scan Zoom' for a detector. [units:none] {used:PMT}". However, being part of the Detector element implies that this is a fixed value for the detector, rather than an adjustable, experiment-dependent parameter, which would be part of the DetectorSettings element.

We would like to be able to record the (adjustable) zoom setting during acquisition, and need a place to store it. I suggest adding a Zoom to DetectorSettings. This would be similar to how both Gain and Voltage are present in both Detector and DetectorSettings.

Also, we may want to change the description above for Detector.Zoom, since both "confocal zoom" and "scan zoom" are typically adjustable parameters. We should explicitly note that the Detector.Zoom is a fixed value (e.g., as is the case for optical zoom on the table).

In general, the description for Detector and DetectorSettings should be more explicit, explaining that Detector is for fixed values of the hardware, whereas DetectorSettings is for settings during a particular run.

Lastly, there is also some language suggesting that the Detector element has changed, and is going to change again in the future" "Each attribute now has an indication of what type of detector it applies to. This is preparatory work for cleaning up and possibly splitting this object into sub-types." I suggest removing this language, as most people reading the schema will not be concerned with those details, but rather want an explanation of what the Detector element is for.
