RFE:Default truncation of image names

With the default truncation of the start of the image file name, the tree structure can seem unusable. In discussion with Michael, the loss of the full file name means a lack of the ability to read the tree and the scientific meaning of each image easily. So having the default for the tree view is of immediate concern to a scientist viewing the tree.

Josh: Perhaps make un-truncated the default? Or perhaps by 4.4.1 our users will have learned how to use the ABC item. A menu item might also make it more findable.

This is part of the section "preferences" We also got feedback indicating the opposite i.e. truncated names.
Note that the "full name" was never displayed, when too long it has always been "fooo..."

The changes made on the name displayed followed a review by Gus & Scott. Assigning to Scott for further investigation before making any new changes.
