Use of OMERO to showcase data on OMX website

Description
OMX offers production line Super-Resolution Microscopy to projects from Scotland, the UK and Europe. They wish to be able to showcase their work by allowing web site visitors to be able to see, browse and access images through OMERO.
Aim:
- showcase data to interest and attract new researchers who might use the technique
- attract future collaborators
- showcase work to funding bodies/reviewers
Would like visitors to be able to:
- Browse through images on website
- Illustrate the high resolution nature
- Be able to zoom
- Change rendering settings
- Look through z-stack
- Look through t-stack
- Use ROIs to measure actual distances in images
- Not be able to output via scripts
Resolutions currently about 1024 x 1024
About 10 images to start with - but must be able to expand
OMX will take care of copyright issues

rkferguson - Initial discussion regarding requirements with Markus
Discussed with wmoore:
- can certainly achieve some of that with current functionality
- should be able to set it up if they have the images on nightshade.
- need to set up a public account on nightshade
- group that is read-only and has 2 members - a "guest" and the administrator/owner
- images are imported into this group and then a link to them embedded in the html page
- need to decide whether want full viewer or thumbnail or mini viewer link a-la-JCB
rkferguson:
- this solution will not allow measurements/drawing of ROIs but looks as if it would be possible to implement immediately
- will probably be of interest to other users as well - even the OME website
Plan:
- wmoore will write up documentation on how to do it
- rkferguson will try a test implementation on gretzky using the documentation
- can then see if we can do it on plone
- rkferguson will feed back to OMX when we have made some more progress
