Description
Need to check that any existing objects that are reused in gatewaytests are left in the same state (group etc) as before the test.
Newly created objects should be deleted.

This test failed to reproduce the strange behaviour it attempted to mimic.
Also tries to do funny stuff that may be causing problems with tests hanging etc.
