Bug: Insight fails to view images after switching users

Description
Logged in as user-5 (read-annotate-1), did testing of image/roi deletion/annotation.
Switched to user-6, however user-5 was still displayed in the Projects tree view on the left. Note that user-6 defaults to read-only-1, which user-5 is not a member of...
Quit insight.
Logged in as user-6.
Switched group to read-annotate-1.
Annotated user-5 image with ROIs.
Switched to user-5.
Image is not viewable (see attached screenshot).
Quit insight.
Logged in as user-5 (read-annotate-1)
Image is now viewable, and user-6 ROI is deletable.
So there's clearly a bug in user switching and groups. Why is *any* state being preserved between the login sessions? Are objects being reused which could be (or should be) created cleanly from scratch? This was seen during 4.4.0 testing.

Had what sounds like similar problem.
Using OMERO-merge-green/168/ on Windows 7 Insight
Intermittent problem when logged in as user-2 read-only-1 and as user-3 read-only-1 looking at user-2 data.
Getting "The image could not be loaded. The image is not a valid image" error message when trying to open images.
Happened with all images, only solved by logging out and in again or quitting application.
Happened twice with user-2 separated by single normal login and use and once as user-3.
